Using stop motion to keep things moving.

How stop frame animation helped lung cancer patients navigate the lung cancer journey.

The Challenge:

Exploring different treatment options can be stressful for both lung cancer patients and caregivers. The shortage of accurate information about treatment options and the concern about standards of care, further add to the uncertainty.

The Solution:

Blue Water created a series of unique, personable and immersive stop motion videos to empower lung cancer patients, helping them understand treatment options and support. Supplemental worksheets detailing the phases and expectations throughout treatment accompanied each video.

The Results:

Labeled the ‘best video we’ve ever seen on palliative care’, by the director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care, the video was promoted on Twitter and became the most promoted video in the whole series. Blue Water’s work with ALA brings more than 5,000 monthly visitors to the Interactive Library—a 68% spike in visits. In 2016, BW won a gold ADDY for this video series in the Public Service Campaign - Single Medium category."
